Children’s Music Classes in West Sussex
Education Through Music offers expert children’s music classes that are perfectly placed for West Sussex families. Based at Emsworth Community Centre, right on the Hampshire–West Sussex border, we welcome children aged 2–10 from across the county — including Chichester, Southbourne, Bosham, Funtington, Bognor Regis, Selsey, Littlehampton, Rowlands Castle and beyond. Families travel up to 30 miles to attend, and we think you’ll soon understand why.
Our Saturday morning classes use the Kodály and Dalcroze methods — two internationally respected, child-centred approaches to music education. Through singing, movement and play, children develop real musical understanding alongside concentration, co-ordination and confidence. It’s the kind of music education usually found at specialist institutions like the Junior Guildhall School of Music, brought to your doorstep every Saturday.
Saturday Music Classes for West Sussex Children
Mini Music Makers — Ages 2–4 | 9:40 AM – 10:10 AM | £5.90
A warm, welcoming parent-and-child class where toddlers discover the joy of music through singing, movement, scarves, balls and hoops. West Sussex families love Mini Music Makers as a Saturday morning tradition — a chance for little ones to build rhythm, listening and confidence while parents enjoy the music too. No experience needed!
Music Adventurers — Ages 4–6 | 10:15 AM – 10:50 AM | £6.50
Designed for Reception and Year 1 children, Music Adventurers takes your child on a playful journey into melody, rhythm and musical patterns. Children learn to sing tunefully, feel the beat and begin reading simple notation — all within a structured yet fun environment that prepares them beautifully for instrumental lessons later on.
Music Stars — Ages 7–10 | 10:55 AM – 11:45 AM | £7.90
For growing musicians in Key Stage 2, Music Stars develops genuine musical literacy — sight-singing, part singing, playing large drums, reading and writing notation. Ideal for children already learning an instrument, singing in a school or community choir, or simply ready for a deeper musical challenge.
All classes run on Saturdays during term time. A sibling discount of £3.50 is available when you bring more than one child. Your first session is always free.

“We are very excited to return to music class tomorrow. Vincent’s passion and dedication to his students is unparalleled. Through working on the foundation building blocks of music, my son’s piano skills have greatly benefitted. I would highly recommend any child interested in taking up an instrument to attend music classes with Vincent.”

How Music Education Benefits Your Child
Children who receive quality music education consistently show improvements in language development, reading ability, maths skills and emotional regulation. At Education Through Music, we see these benefits every week — children who arrive as shy toddlers and grow into confident, musically literate young people. Our Kodály and Dalcroze approach builds the whole child, not just their musical skills.
